Milan Salone 2014 - CEA Sanitaryware
One company that we were very excited to see in Milan was CEA - not a new company to us but someone that we have followed for a long time and love to propose to our clients (budget allowing, of course). In terms of quality versus price, it's a company we truly believe is good value.
Far more importantly than value (we are designers, after all) is the exquisite detail and elegance with which CEA products are designed, from the finishes to the geometry of the shapes, to the detailing on the dials all the way down to the concealed parts (which I have to say are some of the most sophisticated we have seen).
There is a quality about CEA that just puts them above anything we have seen and, not to choose a favourite but, after seeing the CEA stand in Milan, it was hard to appreciate much else!
We're lucky enough (it's almost like a privilege) to be fitting CEA in one of our new projects in Maida Vale and have spent the morning specifying sanitaryware with local bathroom specialist Benjamin Peak (www.timeandspacelondon.com). Working with good quality and well designed sanitaryware is what we love and when everything is as beautiful as CEA, you can't go wrong, despite what range you choose. We've even been brave and mixed-and-matched some ranges!
One of our current favourites from CEA is the circle collection, which has a very unusual style of thermostatic tap, which we recommend you read up on a bit more if the technical side of taps interests you. We also really love the silicone handset shower hoses, which we saw multiple clones of in Milan - CEA's are still unbeatably the best.
